Hello High School Families!

This message via Flocknote confirms your son or daughter's registration for Confirmation Prep for the 2026-2027 school year.  This message is going out to all Confirmation Prep students, but please read it carefully for information that is particular to CCD vs St. Joe's students.  

In addition to confirming your registration, I also wanted to take this time to give you some info about upcoming information sessions to start this year.  

For CCD students: 
First Day of CCD on September 13th, 2026:  The 9:30am Mass on 9/13/26 will be an Opening Mass for all CCD families.  Fr. George invites all of our families to attend the 9:30am Mass then remain in the church for an opening program for CCD. (We will not meet in the gym/school that day).  Please sit together as a family during Mass, then around 10:40am we will begin the CCD class period.  NOTE:  At least one parent should stay on 9/13/26 for the CCD period in case the program ends before 11:20am.

Second Day of CCD on September 20th, 2026:  High School families will have a Confirmation meeting (students & parents) in the school gym/cafeteria during this class period.  Other grade levels will follow the usual format, meeting in the gym at 10:30am and dismissing there as well at 11:20am. Please note:  The purpose of this parent meeting is to explain the Confirmation requirements as well as introduce the material that is part of our 9th grade CCD curriculum.  For the first part of the year, Chris and Melanie Smith will be presenting the Theology of the Body material which has some topics that they like to speak to parents about first.  

For SJCA students: 
Your religious education and Confirmation specific classes will be conducted through the religion classes at St. Joe's.  I am working with Dr. Miller to come to Back to School Night on September 3rd so that I can present the Confirmation requirements, answer questions, and give a general overview of the Confirmation process.  As always, while not required, SJCA students are invited to attend any of the CCD classes we offer on Sunday mornings.  In particular, families may be interested in the Theology of the Body presentations that Chris and Melanie Smith will present this fall.  See "Second Day of CCD" above for information regarding those classes.
