I hope your September is off to a good start!! Here are a few notes before we officially start CCD on 9/13/26:

FIRST DAY OF CCD on September 13th, 2026:  The 9:30am Mass on 9/13/26 will be an Opening Mass for all CCD families.  Fr. George invites all of our families to attend the 9:30am Mass then remain in the church for an opening program for CCD. (We will not meet in the gym/school that day).  Please sit together as a family during Mass, then around 10:40am we will begin the CCD class period.  NOTE:  At least one parent must stay on 9/13/26 for the CCD period in case the program ends before 11:20am.  Our CCD calendar is attached and can also be found on the Religious Ed website.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE 9/11/26:  The Diocesan Family Conference is coming up on Saturday, September 19th at Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg.  It is the 125th Anniversary of the Diocese and instead of our usual SHYCON high school conference, the diocese is hosting a Family Conference. This is a great opportunity for our kids to see that the Church extends beyond our parish family here at OLV.  See the link below for the schedule, breakout session, and registration information.
Diocesan Family Conference - Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown
We encourage all of our CCD families to consider attending.  This day counts as a Discipleship Event for those in Confirmation Prep.  If your family is interested in attending, please use the link to register but please also let me know because there is an additional form for students.  There are sessions for all ages!

ADULT CATECHESIS CLASSES will be offered again this year during our CCD classes. Consider expanding your knowledge of the Faith while your kids are doing the same!  See the attached flyer for topics for this September and October.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Blessings for this Labor Day weekend!
