Hello OLV Families!
Welcome back to CCD this weekend! As a reminder, we encourage the CCD families to attend
9:30am Mass this weekend and then stay in the church for a
CCD opening program that starts at 10:40am (parents and students). All classes come to the church this weekend (not the school or Activities Center).
Please see the attached
Class Rosters for K-8.
Homeschool students can pick up their materials this weekend in the baptistry area of the church.
Room numbers are included for each class, but we will be assembling in the OLVCS gym each weekend starting 9/20 (the room numbers are just FYI for late arrivals). High School students are all in one class and will report to the gym with their parents on 9/20. Workbooks for all in-person classes will be distributed 9/20.
Service Opportunity for Families: Here is info on the 25th Anniversary of Jared Boxes from founder Cindy Kolarik. This is a great way for high schoolers to get some service hours but all families are encouraged to participate.
The Jared Box is hosting an exciting event on October 3rd and we can use some help!
Join Us in Making History – Support the "Break the Record" Jared Box Event!
On Saturday, October 3, 2026 The Jared Box Project is hosting the "Break the Record" Jared Box Event, where we plan to pack 1,200 Jared Boxes in a single day—surpassing our current record of 1,000! The event will be held at Our Lady of Victory Activity Center in State College, PA from 11 to 3.
To reach our ambitious goal, I am asking for your support. We are looking for volunteers to help pack boxes. We need folks to register in advance using this Google Sign-Up:
Founded in 2001 in State College, PA, The Jared Box Project honors 5-year-old Jared McMullen, who brought a backpack of toys to his brain cancer treatments and shared them with other children. Since then, more than 1 million Jared Boxes have been delivered to children in over 600 hospitals across all 50 states. The boxes packed during this event will be distributed to children receiving care in local and regional hospitals. The Jared Box Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
See you Sunday!
Blessings,
Susan Ishmael
